Winter training

Posted on October 20, 2008

Winter training officially starts this coming weekend.

Saturday will be my first Swamis ride and Sunday will do GWL. I have also decided to kick in the rowing back into the program. I was getting really lazy as it is dark until 6:30 am and waking up at 4:40 is not really cool. BUT I HAVE TO DO IT.

This last weekend I did nothing. Went to wedding in Napa and all I could think of what eat and drink… and did I. I actually thought of how nice it would have been to go for a bike ride around there. it is really nice, but too far for a weekend bike trip.

Anyway, tomorrow it starts… rowing 5:00am. Tuesday night quick erging, wednesday morning nothing, wednesday night, long erg, thursday AM rowing, friday row, saturday ride my wheels off and sunday get burned by the skinny guys…

Looking forward to it.

My riding has actually gone down (miles and strenuousness) in the last month or two. My weight has gone up a little too. No more Tue/Thurs at Fiesta but I replace it with other, although different, stuff on the bike. I was doing GWL on Sunday when I did not work which I usually do on Sunday. Have not been out on that ride in almost 2 months! I may go out this Sunday if I can.

I have been leaving with the Bill Holland etal. group from the Starbucks on Willow glen at 8:00am. The only fast part is getting too and riding up Dehesa to the Alpine turnoff.

I commute 3 days a week. I get to work 5:45 - 6:00 in the morning. It is starting to get a little brisk in the morning but it is nice missing all the rush in the morning and having time left in the day to accomplish things.
