What a week….. seriously
Posted on December 18, 2009
I have been a bit flat lately and this week my it really showed.
Tuesday AM on our flat ride I felt a little bit of the sting, but on wednesday I completely blew up. Within the first 5 minutes of hard riding my legs reached failure, they would just not turn. Right there and then I decided to turn around and go home, the ride was not going to do me any good.
So I head back to work, actually, and get to my car that I had parked on Regents. Get everything out of the car to put my bike inside and then managed to pack everything back in EXCEPT my laptop. I left to thing on the roof of the car.
I drove away gingerly and got to work… about 0.5 mile down the road. Get out of the car and remember that I was missing my computer. I dont think I have broken this many laws since I have started driving. Ran all kinds of red lights to get back to the parking lot, but it was in vain. The computer was gone and any hope of recovery went out the door.
This thing was 2 weeks old as we got broken into and they had stolen my last one… thieves broke into the office and took JUST my MacBook Pro, just that… Anyways, now I am heading back to work and thinking how I am going to explain this shit. It was just stupidity.
Apple store opened across the way and I went to get a replacement. Started to run time machine and as i was almost getting done with it I get an email. Guy had found the computer and it was working fine.
Turns out to be that I knew the guy. He was a cyclist that was getting ready for a ride and found the computer in the middle of the road, just sitting there. His name is Nick Turner and most of you guys might know him. SDBC elite team guy. I was so lucky…
But anyways, back to the cycling. Feeling flat, blah, blah, blah. This week I am going to go swamis long. 140 miles. Its my last big ride before heading to Brasil on vacation.
I’ll ride there a little bit. I lose a ton of weight when I am there, so looking forward to that.

Meet me at Kiddie Park at Mission Bay. I am leaving there for Swamis at 7:00 sharp!
Couple other of the older guys will be there too.

You guys should really roll out of Nytro at 8:15. We were there at 8:10, waited until 8:20, chased and still got to the Church in time to roll back out with you guys…where were you? Did you get a head start on the long route?

Hey man, I don’t make the rules…. I hear that bell, its time to roll out.
I did not go long, in fact I went super short. I might be getting the swine flu, felt like shit. After the church I just headed home. I burried myself too deep on the way to the church.
I think the really hard rides are done for this year.
just starting my friend…Descanso Sunday and Sunday is in 19 minutes
I love the holidays
