Brutal week… period.
Came of off a pretty hard thanksgiving weekend and we were on on tuesday once again. Usual Cabrillo ride, which is slowly picking up… not too much, but its getting there. NOTHING compared to the on-season ride, which is basically a 2hr TT, but we will get there.
Wednesday. I wish I had never gone.The first one of the year was the toughest one because it was the coldest one, but this weeks wednesday ride was the hardest, BY FAR.
The climbing, the flat speed and the intensity. I wasn’t actually weeping (making crying noises), but the tears were running, i swear. On the climbs I was hammering to not get dropped to far and on the flats I was turning my legs faster they should have. IE, we were doing 38mph on Miramar road, with morning traffic… I had a 12, so there you go. I felt the heaviness in the legs until this AM.
Today I went long loop Swamis from BL. I started ahead of the group and when they caught up to me I tucked in. At the church I kept riding and pretty much did the entire ride to the store with another guy. Averaged 350w up wolford, which was a nice effort… it wasnt fast, but it hurt.
Tomorrow should be cold and this entire next week looks like I will be doing trainer workouts or something else… I am not riding in the snow… NO WAY
