V02 max – its that time again

Today I ran another V02 max test.

This new sports drink is doing a study and i volunteered for the test, so here you go:

Of course I heard the usual…. “if” you lost weight, you would be great… The good news is that the numbers are looking a bit better… not V02, but power numbers.

Weight: 189lbs
V02max: 55 ml/kg/min
V02 at LT: 39 ml/kg/min
Max V02 power: 440 watts
LT V02 power: 314 watts
Resting HR: 45
Max HR: 191

After the last test my gal was to loose weight. I got that a bit under control. I know, 3 pounds, but trust me it is more. I have been constipated… I can safely write down 2 more pounds and I am confident i will not be audited.

Efficiency is also greatly improved. Moved from 67% to 86%.

LT power increased from 290 to 314. I am still eyeing 360. Max power is the same. Hopefully fiesta workouts can give me a good bump.

Overall good results after 2.5 months of riding. I think the next 2 will really get me going good. Daylight time savings is also a huge plus, more time int he sun.

    I forgot to put in my lactate.

    MAX: 7.1 mmol

    Which pretty much means I am a pussy and cannot tolerate a lot of pain.. which i thought I could… it can also mean that my I only have a few matches to burn before cracking. Ken told me it should increase as my LT efforts become more frequent (fiesta island!!!!!).

    Looking for 10-11mmol.

    SOOOOO, if you attack me enough times I will be running on fumes after a few.
