TTT

Overall a good “workout”. I headed up there with Justin and he did not seem to fond of the idea. But I was keen in following through on this one, there was no way I was not going to do it. I would have riden (sp?) the course by myself if I had to.

We were late to our start, but only by 8 seconds. We rolled out and the tailwind was nice. We set a good tempo and speed was good. Average speed for the first 6 miles was close to 29mph and that was pretty good. Once we turned into the wind things got a bit different. Justins legs seized….thats right, he seized and all I could think was that we were not going to finish this TT..

Well, I pulled more so that he could get the crap out of his legs….then I pulled some more and then some more and then I kept pulling. Finally he started to feel better and he started to trade pulls with me. For soem odd reason sitting in his draft and then getting back to the fornt felt worse than just driving it.

I know how it feels, When you blow up, you blow up, there is no coming back from it and we still had 17 miles + to go. I remeember VOS’s TT. A complete waste of my time…I EXPLODED within 1k.

Anyway, I kep t taking long pulls and we were eating up the miles. Speed was coming up and after the halfway point and aftr the headwind we were looking good again. Average speeds were back to almost 30 and that was good.

The final miles were somewhat hard but I was well in my comfort zone. Cramping here and there a bit, but we were almost done.

We crossed the line, Justin apologized, but no worries. I was happy we finihsed. We ended up 5th, i think. Dan told us, so we still beat 5 other teams, which is pretty amazing considering that we did not share the work evenly. For sure we could have gone faster and that is a good thing to know.

Dan won the race and he is TTT State CHAMP! hahahahaha
