Thoughts on SDSR outcry

Posted on March 31, 2008

This is the deal: you complain about the race, do what I did, DON’T GO

Please do not complain about any race being to hard cause that makes you look like an idiot. How can you ask a promoter to soften up the course just to suit you best. WTF are you talking about.

I keep reading about the time cuts and this and that, the reality is that you have to be in shape do do well. PERIOD. Go to VOS next year, or even do better – sign up for Sea Otter, there is still time. You most likely will get destroyed. A lot of people got crushed but they come back, year after year, but they like it that way.

I have done SDSR twice and will not go back until I am comfortable enough to actually be a part of the race. I know the people that put the race together and they are OK with me not showing up. The fields will always fill up. I have nothing against the race I just KNEW by experience that I would not have a shot of even finishing the race.

DID I ASK HIM TO CHANGE ANYTHING? DIT I SIT THERE AND BITCH AND MOAN…..NO. I went out of state and made the best out of it.

So please, next year if you show up fat and out of shape please do yourself a favor and turn right back around. Someone will take your spot.

BTW, Chris DeMarchi is an animal. He is a sprinter but he has been training hard, he knew what was coming.

alright done….

It is absolutely amzing how much bike racers can complain! We take everything for granted. One sign of hope is that I did hear a fellow racer say “Thank You Officer” as we buzzed through the Raging Waters gate at about 24 mph.

    Gary,
were you and Nathan crashed out in the RR? or were you in the crash in the crit? I didn’t see any crashes in the RR but then Albert and Nathan were both chatting about crashing? Where and when?

A place for me to speak my mind and hear what people have to say. Sometimes too harsh, sometimes brutaly honest
