Team in Training Workouts
Posted on March 19, 2008
Now that the time has changed I have been able to go ride after work pretty much everyday.
So yesterday I went to Fiesta and sure enough, the Team in Training group was there. And before anyone starts bagging on them about how horrible bike handlers they are and how they are slow, yada, yada, yada, I will say this: its a great group of people and they are a bit inexperienced with their handling but their speeds are just fine.
I love getting a workout with the group. Small 20-30 people, easy 30 miles in under 90 minutes and it gives me the opportunity to do as much or as little work as I want. So the day I am tired I sit in and spin, when I am OK I mix it up in their sprints (every lap).
The workout runs from now until November.
If you are in the SD area and feel like riding in a group I guess you would be more than welcome. But remember, thsi is their workout, so ask someone in the group before jumping in. And please no assholes or idiots trying to show off.

You are brave man for posting this information.
Are there sprints during MS rides? That would be priceless! Route slips flapping in the wind, snack bags getting knee’d around, waterbottles flying out of those Tri contraptions you put on your seat to be more “aero”……
So who wins the sprints? Jan vs. TeaminTraining …. you know we’re keeping score now.
Hey man, Brett Clare shows up many times and the last time we went for it I threw out my back.
Later in the year the average speed is above 25mph, which is not slow. They train for the Tour of Tucson, you know that crit with 10,000 people
I thought that “crit with 10,000 people” was Del Mar….or did the turn radius just make it *feel* crowded?
btw–Team in Training rocks for getting people off the couch and into being fit.
Just bustin your balls, Jan.
I just can’t shake the image of a guy in an all out sprint with big ass aero bars and his handlebars inches above his saddle, etc.
You mean team “On Your Left”.
I guess this group is a more advanced one.
Like I said, Brett Clare comes out, Janelle Holcomb was/is on that group. I am sure that there is no one that reads this blog that can ride a faster TT than him or outclimb her, and that is a fact.
