I had a similar problem. I used to get my tubes at Performance until I noticed I was getting flats that looked like a defect not a hole from something else! I had been using their tubes for some years! I switched and now buy tubes from Cal Coast bikes on Adams Ave. 3 for $10. They say GIANT brand (like the Giant bikes logo)

Best thing I did in a long time. Flats went down!! I think half of the flats I got before were defective tubes. I even went through different tire brands before but did not even suspect tubes?? Since then I rarely ever get flats..

Yup. I when I first got into road riding I discovered very quickly that their tubes and their tires are very poor. I quickly moved to Continental tubes and tires and I've never had a problem since. I can easily get 7500 miles out of a Continental tube and they're dirt cheap down at good old Performance.
