Some useless updates

Rock Racing
Contributions made at TDG were very nice. AND their kits looks pretty good too. I have been pretty relentless with the bashing of Rock Racing, but I can also recognize when they do nice things. Everyone wins. I guess it was a good decision to put them into the tour. Hopefully they don’t have to pay out promoters in order to get into races and maybe MB will contribute regardless.
Fiesta Island 5/1/08
Nice easy pace for the weekend. I was pretty funny to see everyone riding very mellow. I did not row in the morning so I had some good legs for it. I heard that there was some altercation half-way through the workout and that guys were close to throwing fists. Oh well.
This weekend
Looking forward to this weekend. Even though I am no climber I am looking forward to San Luis Rey. I know I will get murdered, but it doesn’t matter. I predict a personal best finishing spot in that race (this is no real benchmark as I always am close to last – which for those who do not know the course, it means: last one to quit. Every year close to half the field quits, so… there you go).
Barrio will be a different story. This is a very technical course and the wind is a bitch. Start in the back and you will either never see the front or not finish AT ALL. I really cannot see how this race will play out. The chance of a break going will be more than 50%. Looking at the VERY small field of pre-regged, this is my prediction. I know a lot of guys come down and sign up the day off, but this weekend will really put a dent into your wallet if you did not pre-reg.
entry fee + late fee + gas + get murdered at SLR/crash at Barrio = not worth it
As a final prediction, I will say that 50% of the racers will experience one of the two items above.

JH-We need to put that guy from Fiesta Island on your list.
The guy on the Orange Orbea. The guy is a hack and a chop. The altercation was between him and me.
The guy is so weak that he wouldn’t dare put himself into the wind and he kept moving over and forcing me to let him or shooting up gutter and almost bumping bars with guys on the line……Finally I got sick of it and I put my hand on his hip to keep him from coming over.
He obviously has so little pack riding experience that he got spooked and freaked out. He then proceeded to come around me and intentionally chop my wheel. Almost taking out 30-40 other riders. I grabbed his jersey and applied my brakes to slow him down and have a “conversation” and he was having none of it. He pretended like he was gonna stop and then sped away…….I chased him, grabbed his jersey again and applied my brakes…….He rode away again. All the while talking smack! At one point he grabbed his phone to call the police. I said “are you going to tell them that I am calling you a pussy and a coward and that you’re scared, or that you tried to take my wheel out and almost hurt 40 other riders!!!!!”
I hate pussies. Anyway….another hack to add to your list. It’s always unfortunate that we get those guys out there that don’t race except for Thursday eve’s at Fiesta and they take it WAY TOO SERIOUSLY
Guy has been out there for years.. (10?) He reminds me of a major motion junior! He is not smooth, he jumps off the front, blows and just MOVES into the pack as he is getting passed!! A real ASSBAG! (my opinion)
Glad I pulled out after a nice 4 laps.
You can still bash Rock. They said they would Rock the ToG. They did have one guy in top 10, very nice, but they didn’t win any stage nor any jersey. I know of a team that MB thought didn’t deserve to get in the race from the start, they had 3 top 10′s, won a jersey AND got 2nd in another jersey competition…..anyway, it was fun being there in person!
