racing weekend

Posted on May 4, 2009

This weekend was a bit of a mixed one.

I think we (the team) completely blew the greatest opportunity to win Barrio. And I will go ahead and blame some stupid things I did. They were not super stupid, but I did waste some good matches early one and that cost me the energy to lead out TJ… sucks… really sucks.

So saturday we did not do so well..

Sunday I was feeling motivated and i think that barrio opened up the legs. Even if i would had been the most gung-ho in my life i would not have done anything extraordinary in that race, but to tell you the truth, I got pretty close.

I think my predictions about breaking 180lbs and getting upgrade points would have been a reality. The climb was hard, but not boulevard agonizing. We hit it pretty quick sometimes… I will look up the power numbers and see which one was the hardest.

It was a hard race for the guys pulling. At some points on the flats I was putting down 400w just sitting in. This one kid, he attacked the shit out of us. This guy might have a future in cycling and this might have been his last race as a 3. he will be the guy that does 5-1 upgrade in lass than a season… unreal.

Anyways, after each lap some guys got popped off, which was a bit strange since a couple of them were sitting in. The guys that tried to get away got re-absorbed and shelled pretty quickly.

On the last lap, the biggest dude in the group broke away and that was it… he gained so much time. We were just rolling around and the time gap grew bigger and bigger. It was actually pretty cool.

We hit the climb for the last time and I am in 5th. I figured I can do my fat man float and crest with the fast guys and hopefully full it out of my ass in the sprint.

It got faster and harder, then it slowed down, then some confusion here and there, some attacks and I found myself hurting. ALMST there… the group goes a bit lull and then they crested and I never saw them again. I got dropped with 500 meters to the line…

It was a good effort on my part, but I wish I had had the legs or lost the extra weight. The snap occurred right at the crest, they were 30 meters ahead of me… oh well…

Gotta get ready for State RR. Its the same style of a climb.

NOTE: I wrote this listening to Kristy Ally launching her new weight loss line and working on some estimates…. no time to edit…. so if does not make sense… I am sorry

Don’t feel bad.. I have gained weight again in the last 6 weeks. Not riding as much either. I may feel motivated enough to go down to Fiesta on Thursday night and get my ass hammered!!
