off season effects

Posted on October 4, 2009

Yesterday I rode swamis on my TT bike and holy shit. Reality set in real quick. I hit the fucking wall. Fitness is GONE and even after 5 hour on the bike my dehydrated weight was 186lbs.

To be fair, I did have a huge asthma attack right before we hit the fountain hill and then another after the church. The first one was so bad I was worried I would have to stop and get of my bike. It sucked. I am not sure why I am getting those. Its been 16 years since my last scary episode and now I am slowly getting them….

That ride reminded me of when I did my first swamis. A nightmare…waaay to fast and getting dropped on the first hill. Pretty tough to swallow and somewhat of a downer and de-motivator for next weeks TT. I am going to get crushed by everyone or by asthma…

Anyways, lets see how it goes. After all, its the off season, I can loose the fitness and gain the weight. It just means I will have to suffer extra hard when we start to turn the screws…

Don’t fall off the boat Jan…..You worked too hard this season for that. You need to be 173 this year!!! :)

I have been having a few issues with asthma too. I guess it has to do with the cooler air, at least it does for me. Time to start up on the Advair again and carry some Albuterol.

I plan on making it out next week. I was home sick on Tuesday and Wednesday this week.
