Yesterday a friend of mine came to a pretty funny conclusion. This is how it all started:
We were chatting about how Lance was doing in the tour so far and how the other guys on the team were doing so much better than him. Sure most of them are getting dropped on the hills, but Lance, I am pretty sure, has been dropped on every single hilly stage… On the other hand, you have a guy like Levi, who is hanging in there pretty tough.
So we talked a little bit more and entertained the thought of how much each member of the team meant to Lance… then we speculated that Levi does the RoadID ads so that when he crashes, Lance would be able to identify him in case of emergency. Of course this was all fun and games, but I wonder how much Lance cares about his teammates. Clearly he should have supported Levi from the get go.
In any case, Phil and Paul, the two versus guys are really into Lance. They really kiss his ass, with their tongues out too… Its pretty crazy to have to do that, but who other than me cares about this shit. BTW, an additional note on these guys, they are really becoming senile. The pronunciation of names, times gap reports, identifying riders, overall commentary is just horrible. They need to get their shit together. My buddy and I discussed this too… I mean, they are ALWAYS late on an attack, on a time gap relay and then they drop shit like “and now they are on the steepest part of the climb, but now it gets steeper…” and “Lance is saving it today” and “my goodness, look at the heart rate on Jens. 150bpm, no wonder he is suffering….”.
Anyways, it has been a pretty good tour. It is great to see all the clean riders getting their asses kicked by the guys with the new doping stuff. Honorable mentions in this list are: Dave Zabriskie, Inaki Isasi, Alessandro Ballan, Linus Gerdemann and Bradley Wiggins.

The “senile” part I have really noticed. More so from Phil…
at GT, yeah, thats true, but its so painful to see all these people that have no clue defend his honor. Trust me, its not just him, talk to a baseball fan and they will defend some steroid user until they are blue in the face…
I dont know man, I have a pretty brutal view o athletes and teams that do nothing but rake in cash.
@Mark, oh man, this is brutal. I haven’t heard their take, so i will not comment on their work, BUT, that name sounded very familiar, so I looked back 3 or 4 posts and there it was http://wheelsuckers.com/philadelphia-international-cycling-championships
I know Gogulski was part of the crew and I actually made a point to write down all their names because I wanted this to be indexed by google.
I’ll catch it some time and will write something…. but then honestly, its just my opinion. The reason I put it out there about the VS guys is that there is no other choice when watching it live. I know GT told me you can stream it through some european channels, but thats it… we live on with the VS guys… oh well…
