ITT this saturday

I noticed that until last week, registration for the individual time trial championships was pretty low. I am not sure if you will be able to sign-up the day-of, but by the way things are going it is going to make it tough to have a fair result.
My concern is that say 10 guys pre-regged for a race. Then 10 more show up the day of and decide to register for the same category. Well, promoters would want the numbers, but in order to allow these racers to ride, they will have to go AFTER the last SCHEDULED person? Or will they delay the other categories? I know they can never start early, but one of the two things will happen:
1- start times will be delayed
2- results will be skewed
Now I don’t really care for a delayed start cause its only 30 seconds per person and if you don’t have an extra hour in your day then you have to find something else to do, BUT the different start times might actually become a HUGE advantage for either the people that did sign up early of for the people that signed up late.
Not really sure how to solve this.
The last scenario is that they enforce the pre-reg rule and we have a handful of people racing in a category and that kind of dilutes the “prestige” of being the champ in that category.
Let’s see what happens saturday morning.
