Iggy is back! Karl is back….

Yesterday as Fiesta World Championships Iggy showed up. The guy looks very thin.
We chatted for a bit and I told him I would love to see him race locally to see how all his training in europe has done to his body. He said his next race is manhattan beach and that he will be working pretty hard for Bahati… I guess he is a little bit fried from his trip… lots of racing and even more suffering.
His plan is to go back and do some stage races in the next month. Good to see him doing well. I hated racing his ass, but now that I don’t have to deal with him I can appreciate the guy.
Another special guest also showed his face and fuck did that suck. Mr. Pro Triathlete Karl Bordine on his TT rig. We get a parade lap in and then the guy hits the front and takes a 2 lap pull. I look back and we have 1/4 mile gap to the peloton. There were maybe 14 guys sitting on Karls wheel… included in the group was Thurlow and he worked his ass off to make it stick. I was kinda happy to be in there and I was actually giggling between gasps of air. My teammate named him the “human scooter”. I agree.
Well, with us being gone form the pack we missed a big wreck caused by some swamis idiot. He is new to the club but his skill set is not. Everyone knew that it was a matter of time before the shit head would wreck us.
So I got dropped after Karl took another pull. Came back to the group and people worked to try to catch the guys. It happened, but with 1/4 lap to spare.
We catch the break and gunning for the sprint another crash. The adams avenue guy looked back and crossed wheels with his teammate… boom. i thought for sure he would not getting up. He DID! Amazing.
Anyways, very fast (average 27.8mph and 37.9mph max), very stooopid fiesta yesterday… glad to have survived it.
Looking forward to swamis tomorrow and maybe some hill repeats on sunday. I will train as I was going to SLO, but not sure I will make it…

Bummed I didnt get to role with some fast guys, but glad I missed the crashes. Geared up for MBGP.
