hottest ride EVAH
Posted on June 28, 2009
Went east county today. I got an “invite” from Rob to go do a 140 mile, 10000ft ride.
I had to pass on the “death march” and just go do a smaller version of it. Reverse GW, which is pretty short but can feel like 100 miles if done right.
The ride was 41 miles, 3500ft and 3 hours on the bike. No too bad, huh…pretty easy, mellow ride….. except that it got really efen hot.
90 something by the time we hit the first climb
100 something after we got to the store
111 15 minutes after we left the store
and a high of 114 while riding through Cleveland National Park.
114!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
We decided to back up on the intensity. I was not feeling the heat at that moment, but 30 minutes later when we were in a different spot (109) my toes started to hurt from the swelling… head started to hurt, got some chills here and there.
Glad I did not stick to the 300+ w workout.

It was freakin hot at the store already when I saw you! And I picked this day to ride out to the start at Willow Glen. 70 miles. I am still wasted…..
