Green Trolley Crit

Posted on May 13, 2008

I heard that Toyota United will be down in San Diego for the green trolley criterium. 5 star is putting it on and there are some interesting things about this crit.

The fees are kind of high, but there are some really good primes. There is a separate CAT 3 race, so tat should be a good weekend for the CAT-2 to get some upgrade points. Two CAT-2 only races in a weekend.

I will be curious to see the turnaround. I will be there, its right around the corner, so why not – even though there is a “hill” in it ;-)

I wonder if this will be a pre-showdown or warm-up for Manhattan Beach GP. And if one team gets wind that the other is showing up, you know how it all of the sudden it turns into a Boulevard race. Teams that are in town for the NRC race decide to jump down here to stretch their legs.

It will be interesting. Most people head to MHB the day before including MGE racing…..not sure who the announcer will be?… I doubt LA folks will come to San Diego the day before MHB. They don’t come much as it is, and MHB is a “big deal” so I can’t imagine the turn out will be great…

Too bad they didn’t hook up with San Marcos (ranchos) and put the event on 7/26 and make it a San Diego Race Weekend. LA riders would more likely come if there were two races than coming down when a race is in their back yard the next day.

I haven’t decided on the attendance, MHB is a “big deal”.

A place for me to speak my mind and hear what people have to say. Sometimes too harsh, sometimes brutaly honest
