First rides
Posted on December 30, 2008
I have been in Brasil for 4 days now I have been able to get out two times. Yesterday and today. The lack of gear (lost luggage issue with American) and the rain have kept me a bit inside. But that is OK. I prepared for that by concentrating a lot of riding before heading south.
Yesterday the bug hit me and I had to go ride. It was raining and normally I would not “launch” when it is raining, but it was a nice 76f so the rain was actually really nice. I did hit some pockets of REALLY heavy rain, but they only lasted a couple of minutes. I ended up riding down a pretty big hill and in the end I was a bit tired. 15 miles in 100 minutes and 3000ft of climbing.
Today I did pretty much the same, except I did repeats on this small hill. 17 miles, 101 minutes and 2850ft of elevation. The bonus today was that is was dry. Very humid though. I ran out of water and called it a day. Will go out again this afternoon.
