Fiestas, Riding, sickness
Posted on March 27, 2010
So the good news is that I am feeling almost 100%. 2 weeks of the bike made my legs feel great at the first World Championship Fiesta Island. I sat in the back cause I was still hacking up fluorescent stuff. So I was trying to be nice and all. Of course i was called a pussy by some for sitting in, but only if they knew what I could have spat in their faces…. maybe I should have.
This week I did the second Fiesta of the season and felt pretty good again. Forgot my inhaler at home and there is no way I will try to do anything without it at this point. Dont need to die trying… at least not a fiesta, the big great battle of the nobodies. So once again, I sat in and once again was called a pussy. oh well, who cares.
The weekend is here and this morning I went for a 4.5 hour ride. Crap, that hurt. My legs are jello right now. I feel like I did Swamis long. Hardly…. a mere 70 miles and I am roasted. Funny how fitness goes. You go good and you can run over a bunch of people. You get sick, loose a bunch of it and every fred rips you a new one. Must be really hard for an ex-pro to let themselves go. Today I got schooled by a guy on torrey pines. I am pretty sure this guy was 250lbs, no joke. If I only had my inhaler…if I only had my inhaler..
So with the sickness out of the way, its time to heal the lungs. I am planning on racing the first weekend in may. Barrio and SLR. Will probably get schooled but that is OK. Keeps me motivated to workout.
Got a couple of trips to vegas planned out, that *might* throw a wrench in the fitness department, but lets see. Maybe I bring the bike. Not sure there is any riding in vegas… at least not like here… in the BIG city.
