Fiesta Island World Championships – 3/7/08

It has been a couple of weird fiestas lately.
The last one we had a so-so showing with some big guns that kept the pace up pretty high but there were also some really heavy lulls too. As soon as the guys rotated there was a slowing, I mean some of us helped, but there is just so much WE can contribute to the overall pace.
What did stand out was at some point in the workout, I think 2 to go s swamis guy launched and attack and was going to try a solo victory. Well, we start rotating to catch up and Randall goes, Chuck goes, I go, ten this other swamis kid does not go… I told him to get into the rotation and guess what he replies…. “You guys did this to me last weekend”
At first I had no idea what was going on cause I did not hear him very well, but after we were done I talked to James and he pass it along and then the light bulb went off…
At Green Trolley, we made Swamis chase the break in which we had a guy in, so we would refuse to enter the rotation. NOW, I know it is “the” championships, but Fiesta is not a race and WE DO chase teammates down, it makes them stronger 
This guy was trying to get back at me for making his racing miserable on saturday. I honestly have no idea why anybody would like to dish a payback on a training ride, if it were a race i completely understand. He is a young kid and I actually know the guy that was up the road. Pus when James heard that bullshit he closed that gap in 30 seconds flat.
It was a principle thing… we had a good laugh at his expense.
