CBR states Champs.

Want to thank the DeWalt bumblebees for putting this race up. I love the back-to-back-to-back racing within 30 minutes of driving.

But also for the job that they did at the race. Like Steve mentioned, he was not abel to race and he did ask people how he could make it better, so for that I think you LA guys should come down next time.

The course: well, that was a bitch. It was hard, just plain hard. I did not train for this shit and after 70 minutes of racing my soul gave up. I am not going to blame it entirely on the course, but that was some serious interval training. Every time out of that corner it was an 400-600 watt effort for about 10 seconds. I saw some 800 and a couple of 1000s.

The bottom line is that I got schooled and it did not sit well. I was probably back home and working on the computer before the race ended. Got a lot of shit from people watching… oh well… First crit I get dropped. I am sure they slowed down the next couple laps, but I honestly could not go harder/faster.

By the numbers:
RACE #1 – 40 minutes
187 max HR
180 ave HR
275 ave Watts
10 minutes spent above 500 watts

RACE #2 – 27 minutes
189 max HR
181 ave HR
303 ave Watts
3.5 minutes @ 300 Watts
3.5 minutes @ 400 Watts
2.5 minutes @ 500 Watts
5 minutes above 600 Watts

It hurt, I suffered and ultimately got bent out of shape.

Not racing this weekend as it would not make sense for me to drive 2,5 hours just to get my ass kicked AGAIN. So some rowing and easy riding. I will see how it goes.

That was a great course. Wish I could’ve raced–I turned West from I-5, drove into a field (i.e. there was no road going west from the off-ramp) and got the Yugo stuck.

Then I stood by the road in my new Rock Racing kit trying to flag down other racers (who all knew to turn *east*, despite the directions) but nobody would stop, except the Swamiiii’s guys, and they stopped only to point and laugh at my kit and hairy legs.

Finally, I just left the Yugo, jumped on the Motobecane and rode towards the course. I was, of course, late and oddly hungry (stress?) so I decided to skip race one and stopped to get a burrito (just choosing a taqueria took about 20 minutes). Then I ambled down, registered for the second race….and my guts started to rumble. Suffice to say that I spent the next two races in the HoneyPot, which included my race. So…yes, JH, that was me peeking out of the PortaJohn, giving you shit while I was….wait for it…. shitting.

A place for me to speak my mind and hear what people have to say. Sometimes too harsh, sometimes brutaly honest
