CBR Memorial day – Race 2

Posted on May 28, 2008

After the fiasco that was the first race I suited up for the next one.

50 guys in the field. I think.

Race starts like it always does. On a good tempo then it dies. From the get go this was a better race, at least a safer one. I was planning on sprinting in this one and I think of other guys hanging in the back with me were thinking the same. I did come out to the front a couple of times but there were guys that put in much more work than me.

With 2 to go I moved up with a Bearclaw rider. I mean, HE towed me to the front – Thanks man! – and there I was… alone in the front. I was feeling pretty good and actually went for it. I made it half a lap and got caught. Game over for me.

Not sure who won.

At the end of the day I did some much needed reflection and have decided to ease up on the racing. I haven’t ridden my bike this week and have done 1 work out. I am still trying to heal my hip, so a lot of rest should do me good.

I might show up for Dana Point if teammates go, otherwise, good luck fellas.
