Borrego, Racing, training

Posted on January 21, 2009

This weekend I left for the team’ Borrego training camp. I missed the first day cause I was on the plane back form Brasil (another story). Anyways, decided to drive out there and make the flat stage of the camp… at least that one ;-)

The “plan” was to work the older guys… hehehehe… We had numbers, so I think it was a bit unfair. A lot of really angry attacks by repeating offenders (MJ???) and slowly but surely we started to chip away. Final miles we lined it up and M set pace. According to him he held 400w, I was chilling because I was drafting…… chilling is relative.. I was working, just not as hard. We ended up taking the sprint, but it was hard. I crossed the line first, but the numbers were horrible. BTW, I had just stepped of the plane, slept 6 hours and driven 2. And that takes us to the next topic:

Racing: I think I might go to CBR to test the legs. This will be the first effort that i will make that will actually count. Not sure how it will go… if I go.

As far as training goes I feel pretty good. I do need the intensity in the next couple of weeks to cap off some base miles and also do some serious TT work. This morning I went to the spin class at 24hr fitness… I know, not the same, but the structure of the class allows me to get a hard workout in 60 minutes.
