Any consequences from Lance coming back…
Posted on September 23, 2008
Now that the word is out and that people have had time to digest the news, speculation starts to build. I had a couple of thoughts myself and none of them looked good for Contador or Levi.
These two guys are hating Lance’ guts right now. Now that he was supposed to be gone, retired and play the celebrity role, the big guys at Astana had it made… or at least they thought they had it figured out. I bet Levi is fucking pissed and his head is just trying to figure out how in the world he is going to handle this problem. Correct me if I am wrong, but doesn’t Lance has some sort of ownership in that team? I know he did in Discovery, but didn’t that transfer to Astana is some sort of way? At least the management side?
Well, what matters now is that these two guys, Contador and Levi WILL have to ride for the uniballer. BTW, Contador might also be pissed, but kicking in screaming in his own language. Actually, they might both be meeting and exchanging some ideas. If it were me, I would.
So, if Lance owns some part of the team or has vested interest in Astana, he will again the the top guy, but will he deliver? And that is one more thing that the other guys have to think about… they might sacrifice their season for a guy that might not be at the top… Don’t know, too many variables.
The point is that ANY chance that Contador and Levi had in winning the Tour are gone out the window because this douche bag decided to hop back on the wagon.
Lets see how it unfolds.
