Almost got stuck yesterday

I went on a ride today to explore the surroundings. There is a new development that is being built right behind my neighborhood so I decided to go check it out.
I knew there would be some hills, but as soon as I started to go down I noticed the gradient and it was pretty steep. Had to stop twice to make sure my rims were not overheating. I followed the road (half brick, half tarmac) all the way down and bam, there I was…in a PIT!
Started to climb out and right then and there I realized that it had been a pretty dumb mistake to go down….It descended 600 feet in less than half a mile so the climb up was absolutely BRUTAL. I measured a 28% grade on the way up, which I knew was not right because I was going to slow to get a correct reading…Â
I had one dab and that was only because I thought I was going to flip backwards. The 27 was not big enough for this climb. The worse part is that I had ran out of water 30 minutes prior to even starting the descent…oh well, not going there anymore. Will stick to my hill repeats which average only 8%.
